Storied Parisian footwear label Roger Vivier has unveiled a poetic new chapter in its Pièce Unique story, deepening its homage to its house motif – the rose – teaming up with Parisian embroidery atelier Maison Lesage.
Titled La Rose Vivier Pièce Unique, the collaborative collection continues the floral thread from its Autumn/Winter 25 ready-to-wear line.
Roger Vivier himself worked closely with Lesage in the 1980s, integrating embroidery into his visionary designs. This latest collection reimagines that history through a modern lens, transforming memory into tangible objects of art.
Creative Director Gherardo Felloni, who has helmed the Maison since 2018, drew from Lesage’s expansive archive – dusty boxes of beaded appliqués, fragments of antique fabric, and forgotten textures – to inspire eight Efflorescence Jewel bags and two exquisitely embroidered gilets. But, as the brand puts it: “This is not homage, nor reproduction, but interpretation.”
Even the presentation space, the Salle d’Argent at Roger Vivier’s headquarters, was transformed to mirror the artistic narrative. Swathed in pale yellow velvet, the room glows with warmth while ceramic rose petals in soft pink and honey drift across the walls. Some cradle the bags, making them part installation, part objet trouvé.
“This collection is a study in contrasts: softness and sharpness, tradition and transformation, the natural and the extraordinary,” the brand said in its statement. “Through the hands of Lesage and the vision of Roger Vivier, the rose is reborn – timeless, but never still.”
Felloni’s theatrical yet meticulous approach continues to evolve Roger Vivier’s legacy, expanding the house beyond footwear into a broader world of craft-focused luxury.
